Simulator Reactor Control Panel:
The Reactor Control Panel contains all of the controls and indications you'll need to startup the reactor and bring the plant to full power. Some of the plant systems operated from the simulation Control Panel include:
bulletReactor Process Instrumentation (reactor pressure, temperature, water level, etc)
bulletControl Rod System (control rod selection, insertion, withdrawal)
bulletControl Rod Sequence Control System (rod selection and movement restraints)
bulletNeutron Monitoring Systems (reactor power and period indication)
bulletReactor Protection System (manual and automatic reactor scram)
bulletReactor Feedwater System (Feed Pump controls)
bulletReactor Water Level Control System (manual and automatic level control)
bulletReactor Recirculation System (Recirculation Pump speed control)
bulletTurbine Generator Systems (turbine runup, synchronization, loading)
bulletEmergency Core Cooling Systems

In addition, the following simulator functions are provided from the Reactor Control Panel screen:

bulletView and/or print the Power to Flow Operating Map
bulletView and/or print the Rod Sequence Checkoff Sheet
bulletDisplay the ECCS System Control Panel (from the 100% Power Initialization Condition)
bulletSave plant conditions as a custom Initial Condition (IC)

Initialization Conditions:
From the Simulator Menu, the simulation can be initialized at any one of six preset conditions called Initialization Conditions or “IC’s.”   Although a startup of the plant to 100% power can be initiated and continued from any IC, by initializing at intermediate IC's of interest, the time consuming steps between IC conditions can be bypassed.

The six IC’s are:

IC 1 Source Range
IC 2 Intermediate Range
IC 3 Turbine Startup
IC 4 20% Power
IC 5 40% Power
IC 6 100% Power

Custom IC’s - In addition, you can select any one of 10 custom IC’s of your own. As you operate the simulator and change plant conditions, you can click on the SAVE IC pushbutton at the top of the Reactor Control Panel to save a “snapshot” of the existing conditions. The IC is then given a description you provide for later access by clicking CUSTOM IC on the Simulator Menu.
